The Principles which guide our work in the early years are grouped into four themes
A Unique Child Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
Positive Relationships Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.
Enabling Environments The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning.
Learning and Development Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connected. |

The emphasis for our children is to learn through play. We implement structured activities such as small group tabletop games, free mark making books, music and movement, phonics, problem solving and self help skills.
As well as the children learning through play within the routine of the day, children access our:- · Arts and crafts area - Encouraged to explore their own creativity with a wide selection natural and manmade of materials. · Role play - Using their imagination and providing opportunities indoors and outdoors to support different interests for example builders yard, home corner, garden centre, shops etc. · Language and Literacy – Introducing phonics through music and rhyme, wide range of mark making activities (including using chalk, sand, mud, water, pencils crayons, paint and malleable materials). · Mathematical / construction - encourage mathematical terms during play exploring shapes size and patterns discovering numbers, calculating and distance.
